Will Ruto Become President in 2022?

Well, there is a good chance of Ruto becoming President in 2022. You will recall that during the 2013 swearing in ceremony, he referred to himself as ‘FP’ meaning Future President. And from then, he has not hidden his ambition to ascend to the highest office in Kenya. Therefore, the ambition (in Ruto, to become president of Kenya) is there, to start with. That is very important, because there are lots of other individuals who perhaps would make good presidents, but they just don’t have the ambition.
It helps too that, besides having ambition, Ruto seems to have working hard, day and night, towards becoming President of Kenya in 2022. So you find that he has managed to create alliances all over the nation -- alliances that would help him, to some degree at least, in his quest to become president. He seems to have figured out which regions have many votes, and endeavored to get strategic partners there. What with Governor Waititu in Central? What with Bonny Khalwale in Western? What with Aisha Jumwa in the Coast? All these alliances may yield something when the time comes. Building such alliances is good preparation for a 2022 Presidential run. It is similar to the way a form 4 graduate who is preparing to apply for a HELB loan would be advised to first make an effort to get a Kenya ID card first. Similarly, anyone preparing for a presidential run in Kenya would be best advised to get into strategic alliances first, and Ruto seems to be doing reasonably well on that front.
Another thing that Ruto seems to have gotten right in his 2022 presidential quest is media coverage. It has gotten to the point where there is always a Ruto mention in the media every day. This puts Ruto in people’s minds, endears him, and makes him look every bit like a frontrunner in the Kenya 2022 presidential election.
